Test Center and Services

Accommodative Testing Services

The primary mission of the Test Center is to facilitate proctored examinations for students with documented disabilities and approved testing accommodations.

Proctored examinations for students can be scheduled:

  • Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday evenings*, 4:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.

*Wednesday evening testing guidelines:

  • Requests must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. on the preceding Monday.
  • Exams must commence no later than 6 p.m.

Non-Accommodative Make-Up Examinations

The Test Center also collaborates with University faculty to administer make-up exams for the general student body under qualifying circumstances. Those exams can be scheduled:

  • Monday – Friday, 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday evenings*, 4:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.

*Wednesday evening testing guidelines:

  • Requests must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. on the preceding Monday.
  • Exams must commence no later than 6 p.m.

Qualifying Circumstances:

  • Institutional conflicts: University-sanctioned events or mandatory overlapping academic commitments.
  • Student illness
  • Family emergency: a major crisis, acute emergency, or bereavement

Ineligible Examinations:

  • Examinations for Students’ Personal Travel: The Test Center cannot proctor examinations to accommodate students’ personal travel decisions.
  • Retakes: Examinations offered as part of an instructor's course policy (e.g., optional retakes or re-assessments) must be arranged and proctored directly by the faculty member.

Requesting a Make-up Exam:

  1. Faculty consultation: Students should consult with their faculty to confirm eligibility and establish an approved testing window.
  2. Form submission: If the faculty member is allowing the make-up exam, students will need to complete and submit the Exam Accommodation Request Form (login required) a minimum of two weekdays in advance.
  3. Approval: Upon formal authorization by both the faculty member and the Test Center, a confirmation email will be issued.

Test Center Policies

  • Students must arrive at the Test Center at least 5 minutes before their scheduled appointment.
  • Students must present a valid University ID card at the Test Center desk upon arrival.
  • Restricted items: backpacks, cellular phones, smartwatches, headphones, and all unapproved electronic devices or materials are strictly prohibited inside test rooms.
  • Temporary-use lockers and locks are provided at check-in for the secure storage of personal items.
  • A Test Center proctor will escort candidates to their assigned testing room.
  • If clarification is needed during an exam, notify the Test Center staff. Personnel will contact the course instructor directly on the student’s behalf.

  • Upon exam completion, immediately return all exam materials, scratch paper, and university-issued equipment (e.g., calculators) directly to the proctor.
  • Retrieve personal belongings and return the locker key/lock to the Test Center staff.
  • All testing spaces are continuously monitored by video surveillance to preserve institutional academic integrity. Any policy violations or misconduct will be formally documented, reported to the instructor and may result in disciplinary action.
