Student Employment
Lavery Library employs approximately 20 federal work study students during the school year.
Students who have been awarded federal work study assistance in their financial aid package should check Handshake for available positions.
The majority of hiring is done at the beginning of each Fall semester. However, some students may be hired throughout the year as positions become available or as more student assistants are needed.
A work study position could be in any of the following areas: Access services, acquisitions, or archives. Most students work at the Library Service Desk, assisting patrons and helping to manage the Library’s physical collection. The average student work week is 4-6 hours, and specific schedules are arranged with individual supervisors.
If you have further questions, inquire at the Library Service Desk, check Handshake, or call (585) 385-8165.
