Learning Space Transformation and Strategic Impact Report
Since the inception of the Learning Space & Technology Strategic Plan, St. John Fisher University has undergone a systematic transformation of its physical and digital pedagogical environment. The University has improved one-third of all learning spaces across campus through the generosity of donors, foundations, and grant support.
This work includes:
- 24 full-scale renovations
- 2 classroom refreshes
- 15 targeted classroom enhancements.
The Learning Space Transformation & Strategic Impact Report [pdf] evaluates these efforts against the three foundational goals identified in 2021:
- Modernize classroom infrastructure.
- Expand professional development.
- Align classroom assignments with teaching strategies.
We’ve experienced the symbiotic relationship between physical space renovation and the iFisher: Next Generation Learning Initiative, collectively advancing the University’s mission to provide a responsive, inclusive, and high-impact learning environment.

Learning Space and Technology Strategic Plan
The Learning Space & Technology Strategic Plan [pdf] was created in 2021. A team of campus stakeholders developed the plan to:
- Revitalize and enrich Fisher’s learning environment;
- Provide robust facilities for our students;
- Integrate planning, assessment, and budgeting processes aligned with Fisher’s existing strategic plan strategies 1.3, 1.4, 2.4, 5.1, and 5.3; and
- Enhance teaching and learning at Fisher.
The plan has been a guiding document for the Learning Space Advisory Board and we are proud to have achieved many of the goals it set forth.
