Molly Berg
Education Major
First sold by Fisher’s beautiful campus, Molly Berg admits she felt intimidated when she began her transfer journey. But after meeting the students, faculty, and staff who make up the campus community, she quickly realized she was exactly where she needed to be.
Coming from a previous college experience that didn’t align with her values or feel like home, Berg was searching for a place that matched her faith, offered comfort, and surrounded her with people who genuinely cared. Fisher delivered all of that and more. Club basketball also became a highlight, giving her some of her favorite memories and closest friendships. “If I had never made the decision to come to Fisher, I would not have these amazing people in my life.”
The transfer process itself confirmed she had made the right choice. Thanks to the support of the admissions team, Berg gained a clear picture of what her Fisher experience could look like. Move‑in day brought even more reassurance as she met one of her best friends that day and even reconnected with a childhood friend she never expected to see again.
To others considering transferring to Fisher, Berg offers heartfelt encouragement rooted in her own journey. “Believe in the power of a second chance. It can be very scary having to start over, but at Fisher, you feel at home. Coming to Fisher will be one of the best decisions you will ever make.”
Deante Hall
Sociology Major
With a passion for many things, especially football, Deante Hall eventually found his way to Fisher. After conversations with the coaching staff, he saw an opportunity to continue playing the sport he loved while gaining the kind of personalized, meaningful academic experience that would support his long‑term career goals. Fisher offered both, and that combination made his decision clear.
Before he ever set foot on campus, he already felt welcomed, a feeling that only grew stronger once he spoke with the admissions team. They guided him through every step, answered every question, and helped him navigate the paperwork without stress. Joining the football team added another layer of support. “It made me feel grateful to have 100+ people waiting to welcome me into a family-like atmosphere.”
Hall has found close friends, meaningful classes, and even a few favorite spots to eat on campus. The smaller class sizes and engaged professors have made his academic experience feel more personal and purposeful. “There’s just so much goodness and opportunity here at Fisher that I feel you can’t get from many other colleges.”
For anyone considering transferring, his advice is simple: trust the people who are here to help. And once you’re here, he believes you’ll quickly see what he saw: Fisher offers an education, but also a supportive community for students while they are on campus and beyond graduation.
Ella Savoca
Marketing Major
Striving to grow academically and professionally, Ella Savoca found her way to Fisher after starting her college journey elsewhere. She was searching for something different — a place where she could feel connected, supported, and truly seen. From the moment she arrived, she approached Fisher with an open mind.
“I was already aware of the strength of its academics, especially within the School of Business, and during my visit, I was drawn to the sense of community and the strong connections students build here.”
For Savoca, one moment in particular stood out: a simple gesture that captured the Fisher experience. A professor made a point to greet her every morning, even before she was officially one of his students. That small act of kindness left a lasting impression.
Reflecting on her journey, she encourages future transfer students to be intentional and open‑hearted. “Take the time to reflect on what you want out of your college experience and then pursue it with intention. Come in with an open mind, be willing to try new things, meet new people, and get involved. Putting yourself out there can make a big difference in how rewarding your experience becomes.”
Fisher became more than a transfer destination for Savoca; it became the place where she found connection, confidence, and a community that helped her thrive.
