Requesting Use of Logos

To request use of the St. John Fisher University logo, athletics logo, or Cardinal head logo, submit a Logo Request form. We will review all requests and send you the appropriate file, if approved.

Usage of any St. John Fisher University logos, once approved, must follow the guidelines outlined below and in the University Brand Usage Policy.

Color Variations

There are three different color versions of both the official logo, logomark, and School-specific logos: color, black, and white. Use the color and black versions of the logo on white or light-colored backgrounds only. Use the white versions of the logo on dark, simple backgrounds only.

The full-color CMYK logo is the preferred graphic to use in most applications. The established brand colors must be followed in all print and web treatments. All other uses are dependent upon print and web limitations.

Logo Clear Space and Sizing

To maintain proper and maximum visibility, logos require ample space surrounding them, known as clear space.

The height of the clear space for the logos and logomark correlates with the height of the “Fisher” letters. Keep this space open and clear as shown below to maintain the integrity of the logo and brand.

Minimum Sizing for Print

Logos require a minimum size to ensure maximum legibility and to keep the integrity of the University’s mark intact. The primary logo may be reduced only to a minimum of 0.75”.

School Logos

The official School-specific logos consist of a stacked version including the steeple, wordmark, and School name. All of the School logos are provided in the horizontal format below and in red, black, or white. Do not attach a program-level identification to the logo or attempt to create your own unit or department logo.

University Seal

There are now two official versions of the St. John Fisher University seal.

The Latin seal is reserved for formal uses only—on diplomas, transcripts, commencement materials, podiums, and other official institutional materials.

The English seal may be used—with authorization—as a design element on certain ceremonial communications, such as invitations as well as merchandise items.

Other than the above-mentioned applications, the University seal may not be used without the express permission of the director of marketing and communications.

Cardinal Head

The Cardinal head alone is used to represent athletics, the University, and/or the students of the University.

The Cardinal head faces right and is available in color, black and white, cardinal red, white, and gray scale. Do not flip the head of the Cardinal to face left. Do not stretch, distort, or embellish the Cardinal head in any way.
