03/05/2021 - Rochester native Madison Rooksby, a freshman marketing major who has a minor in professional sales, took it upon herself to turn a dream into a reality. From an early age, Rooksby has envisioned being a business owner; coming from a multigenerational family-owned business. Her father succeeded her grandfather in owning Safe Passage International, offering the motivation and inspiration to create her own beauty brand.

03/02/2021 - The St. John Fisher College School of Business will host a series of talks about current business topics featuring leaders from across different industries.

02/28/2021 - Earlier this month, St. John Fisher College’s Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) was recognized as an award-winning chapter for an “Outstanding Marketing Week.” Fisher is one of only eight out of more than 300 AMA chapters across North America to receive this honor.

02/22/2021 - Accounting and finance double major Matt Jeffries is the next member of the Class of 2021 to be featured in the “Countdown to Commencement” series. Jeffries was nominated by Hugh Lambert, assistant professor of accounting in the School of Business.

02/17/2021 - School of Business Interim Dean Dr. Carol Wittmeyer has always encouraged students to read the news and be knowledgeable about what is going on in the business world. This spring, Wittmeyer, along with the Dean's Student Advisory Council, developed a competition to entice students to read the news.

02/09/2021 - When Dr. Rama Yelkur, a professor in the School of Business at St. John Fisher College, watched the 2021 Super Bowl, it’s safe to say she paid more attention to the commercials than the game. Yelkur, who was joined by Professor Ron Sicker and several marketing students, watched the ads to code and analyze each commercial’s likability.

02/08/2021 - Each year, College News Highlights recognizes members of the graduating class in the “Countdown to Commencement” series where rising graduates are nominated by faculty and staff for the impact they have made on the campus community.

02/04/2021 - Advertising guru and expert Dr. Rama Yelkur has spent over 20 years analyzing the success behind Super Bowl ads. She predicts humor, happiness, and unity will win out in 2021 ads.

02/02/2021 - Alyssa Gara, a finance and accounting junior at the School of Business, recently completed the Ethical Leadership Certification Program offered to Beta Gamma Sigma society members.

02/01/2021 - Even before the spring semester started, accounting students in the School of Business have embraced internships, whether remote or in person. Regardless of modality, students are gaining critical work experience, networking, and assessing potential career paths.
