02/11/2026 - Public relations major and international studies minor Aimei Hall first learned of the EMERGE Leadership Academy through mutual connections on LinkedIn. With a goal of pursuing a career in public relations, it sparked her interest, and she felt compelled to apply.
02/09/2026 - This week’s featured student in the “Countdown to Commencement” series is Shawni Hagan, a psychology major nominated by Megan Walker, CSTEP/TRIO SSS advisor.
02/06/2026 - Dr. Kermin Martínez-Hernández, associate professor of chemistry, has been elected to the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) National Board of Directors. He will serve a three-year term and contribute to the leadership of one of the nation’s largest multicultural STEM organizations.
02/06/2026 - The St. John Fisher University 72nd Commencement is scheduled for Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9 with five ceremonies celebrating bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree recipients. Once again this year, the University is seeking student speakers through a nomination process open to all members of the campus community. Students may also self-nominate.

01/23/2026 - Katie Sabourin, assistant vice president of digital learning at Fisher, has been recognized by Apple as a Class of 2026 Apple Distinguished Educator.
01/22/2026 - This spring, the Patricia O’Keefe Ross Gallery will feature solo exhibition “Washed in Ruby Light,” by artist, educator, and activist Paloma Barhaugh-Bordas.
