Fisher, Dixon Schwabl Host Talk on Strategic Communication
The Strategic Communication program at St. John Fisher College presents, “Agency Life: Working and Thriving in the Field of Strategic Communication,” featuring Lauren Dixon and Mike Schwabl. The talk runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, at Dixon Schwabl (1595 Moseley Road, Victor, NY 14564).
Proud parents of two St. John Fisher College alumni, Dixon and Schwabl will talk about how they built an advertising and digital agency over three decades and what it will take to succeed in the future.
Learn how they have created an amazing company culture that has gained them national recognition as one the BEST COMPANIES TO WORK FOR IN AMERICA—ranking #1 in 2008 and 2010.
This husband and wife team began their careers as journalists—Schwabl as a photo journalist for Buffalo Business First and Rochester Business Journal and Dixon as a news anchor for the ABC affiliate in Rochester. Always “storytellers,” their story began 33 years ago when Schwabl replied to Dixon’s ad in the Buffalo News for a writer/producer to help her newly formed ad agency, based in Rochester. Together, they have grown their company to be one of the largest agencies in Upstate New York. In late 2018, they expanded again with the opening of a Buffalo office, now occupying the 11th floor of the historic Electric Tower, as well as by opening field offices in Richmond, Virginia and Nashville, Tennessee.
The event will also include a brief overview of Fisher's new Online M.S. in Strategic Communication program, which is now accepting applications for its inaugural cohort slated to begin this fall.
