Cooney Miner to be Inducted into Children’s Institute Coterie
This spring, Dr. Dianne Cooney Miner, senior advisor and fellowship director at the Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing, will be inducted as a member of the Children’s Institute Coterie. The award is given to individuals who have worked tirelessly to ensure every child’s complete well-being while strengthening their social-emotional development.
In 2001, the Children’s Institute established the “Coterie” to honor individuals who have offered substantial, consistent, and exceptional support to the organization. The award acknowledges excellence, encourages innovation, and celebrates the contributions of individuals and organizations that are making a substantial impact on health care quality in the Rochester area. Cooney Miner will be inducted alongside community advocates Ida Perez and Dirk Hightower.
The founding dean of the Wegmans School of Nursing, Cooney Miner retired in 2020 after a long, illustrious career. She served as the executive director of the Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing before moving into the role of senior advisor in 2023.
As dean, Cooney Miner helped establish a longstanding partnership with the Children’s Institute, serving as vice chair of the organization’s board. She also supported the School’s participation with Project GROW, where senior nursing majors provide valuable early screenings to three-year-olds in pre-kindergarten to ensure they are ready for school and started on a healthy path in life.
Cooney Miner will be formally inducted during the Children Institute’s Community Breakfast and Coterie Award Celebration on Thursday, April 25.
