Fisher Seniors Chosen for Media Fellows Program
Two St. John Fisher University seniors, Tony DiRubbo ’24 and Adelisa Badzic ’23 have been named 2023 Media Fellows from the Washington Media Scholars Foundation (WMSF). They were among only 70 students from a national pool of applicants selected for the fellowship program.
The Media Fellows Scholarships, sponsored by industry leaders, aim to recognize and support outstanding students pursuing careers in media-related fields. The scholarship not only provides financial support but offers unique opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and access to industry professionals.
“We’re very proud of Adelisa and Tony’s accomplishments and the success in winning this honor. They both have very bright futures ahead,” said Jeremy Sarachan, chair of media and communication.
DiRubbo is a media management major and Badzic is a media and communication major.
DiRubbo has a passion for media and data science and plans to pursue a career in media analytics. He said inclusion in the program will help him pursue a graduate degree and advance within his chosen field.
“I am very excited to be receiving a portion of the scholarship funds available as they will be a great help in further offsetting the costs of graduate school, which I plan to enroll in the year after I graduate,” he said. “I am also excited to be invited and attend many of the WMSF networking opportunities that they have made available to myself and other recipients.”
