
09/25/2020 - St. John Fisher College graduate Miguel A. Meléndez, Jr. ’08 was recently selected to serve as a Councilmember at Large on the Rochester City Council, filling a seat vacated in August. During a special session on Thursday, Sept. 24, he was formally named to the position and took his Oath of Office. He will serve until December 31, 2021, which coincides with the term for that seat.

09/24/2020 - On Tuesday, Sept. 22, 42 students taking a personal selling course through the School of Business participated in the Perfect Pitch Competition, held in partnership with Automatic Data Processing, Inc., commonly known as ADP.

09/24/2020 - According to the Campus Vote Project, “young adults (ages 18-29) made up about 21 percent of the voting eligible population in 2014, but voter turnout for this demographic has reached record lows in recent years.”

09/21/2020 - A popular dining spot for St. John Fisher College students and employees, Cyber Café, received several upgrades this summer, thanks to a $100,000 grant from the Fred L. Emerson Foundation.

09/19/2020 - On September 19, 2019, St. John Fisher College launched a $75 million fundraising campaign to move “Fisher Forward.” Now, one year later, the largest fundraising campaign in the College’s history is climbing steadily toward its ambitious goal.

09/18/2020 - Senior Emily Moore, a psychology major with a minor in sociology, spent her summer conducting research with Dr. Sara Goodman of the Psychology Department on the effects of text chat disruption on lecture comprehension in the virtual learning environment of Zoom.

09/17/2020 - The 2020 St. John Fisher College Student Film Festival will once again run as part of Rochester’s annual Fringe Festival.

09/17/2020 - For the fifth consecutive year, St. John Fisher College has been named among the top 400 colleges and universities in the nation, according to The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education.

09/17/2020 - During the pandemic, MBA students Benjamin Bedosky and Kaleb Kille invested their time reading books on leadership to develop their professional skills. Inspired by many great reads through the summer, they began the fall semester taking their work one step further, and started a new student organization in the School of Business.

09/16/2020 - Though he may be a Rochester resident now, Dr. Kermin J. Martínez-Hernández, an associate professor of chemistry at St. John Fisher College, remains a strong advocate for his native Puerto Rico.
