Now Casting: Paid Photo Shoot for Adults with IDD

Help the Golisano Institute Ensure More People Are Seen and Included 

The Golisano Institute is seeking adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to participate in an upcoming photo shoot. 

The images will be used to build a photo collection that shows real people from many backgrounds and better reflects the disability community. The photos will be used in training materials, websites, and brochures. 

Who We're Looking For 

We want to create images that represent the diversity, dignity, and everyday experiences of people with IDD. Because our focus is on nursing and healthcare, photos will be in a variety of simulated settings, including: 

  • An outpatient exam room (primary care)
  • A hospital room 
  • A mental health counseling environment 

We welcome adults (18+) of all backgrounds, including diverse: 

  • Ages 
  • Racial and ethnic identities 
  • Gender identities and expressions 
  • Communication styles and support needs 
  • Interests, abilities, and life experiences 

No modeling experience is required.

Photo Shoot Details 

  • Dates: July 30 & August 4 
  • Time: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM 
  • Location: St. John Fisher University 
  • Lunch is included
  • Compensation provided
  • Up to 10 total hours over two days; participation will depend upon individual availability
  • Caregivers, family members, and support professionals are welcome, but not required to attend
