Education Grounded in Lived Experiences

Self-advocates' stories and voices are powerful. They provide experience, knowledge, and expertise to help organizations and agencies effectively support the needs of individuals with IDD.

The Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing is committed to creating inclusive educational materials that are grounded in the realities faced by individuals and families. Self-advocates play an important role in the development of learning content and provide essential insights into the lived experiences of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Paid Photoshoot Opportunity for Adults with IDD

Help the Golisano Institute Ensure More People Are Seen and Included

The Golisano Institute is seeking adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to participate in an upcoming photo shoot that will take place July 30 and August 4 at St. John Fisher University.

The images will be used to build a photo collection that shows real people from many backgrounds and better reflects the disability community. The photos will be used in training materials, websites, and brochures.
