Fisher’s online library media program leads not only to initial certification as a library media specialist, but also to professional certification in your original initial teaching certificate area.
Our competitively priced program provides you with the skills and knowledge needed to make a meaningful impact in the classroom and beyond. Courses are taught by dynamic faculty members who are active practitioners with diverse library experiences.
The practical coursework can be applied immediately to the school library and classroom. You will also learn many ways to contribute, in a collaborative manner, to student literacy and inquiry skills.
The program is designed for those who hold initial teacher certification and wish to specialize in library media. You’ll be eligible to obtain a full-time school library media specialist position by the fall through NYS supplementary certification. As a library media graduate, you may also apply for your certificate as a public librarian.
