Over the decades, the shared Fisher experience has brought hundreds of Cardinals together. Here we celebrate the meet-cutes that happened everywhere from ski slopes in Vermont to chance meetings years after graduation.

Allie and Kyle
Allie Esposito ’20 and Kyle Hourihan ’17 met on a winter break trip to Vermont with the Fisher Ski and Snowboard Association. They had never previously met, but the slopes of Okemo Mountain brought the pair together. "We quickly realized we had so much more in common than just our love for extreme snow sports," says Allie. They started dating and were married in January 2024 at Hermance Family Chapel of St. Basil the Great. Allie and Kyle honeymooned at Breckenridge, Colorado. They are expecting their first child, and are forever thankful that St. John Fisher brought them together.
Krista and Kyle
Krista Pilarksi ’18 and Kyle Turton ’19 met as members of the resident assistant (RA) staff. Kyle was an RA in Murphy with Krista’s best friend and Krista was in Ward. Kyle first contacted Krista regarding an RA topic. Flash forward to today, and they have been together for over eight years, living and working as educators in Richmond, VA. The couple got engaged in December and are planning their wedding. “Words cannot express how much love we have for Fisher and the amazing memories we made together there!” says Krista.
Allison and Jacob
Allison Marciano ’13 and Jacob Luta ’12 met in 2011 on the first day of move-in at Founders Hall. Allison was introducing herself as the resident assistant, and little did she know her future husband would live across the hall. Fourteen years later, the couple has been married for 10 years and recently welcomed their fourth son. .png)
Mary Therese and Kent
Mary Therese and Kent Friel both went back to school later in life to complete their degrees at Fisher in communications/journalism. The couple went to class together, studied together and even renewed their wedding vows at the former chapel. This year, they will celebrate their 30th anniversary!

Don and Sheila
Don Preston ’72 and Sheila met at a Fisher campus mixer in the fall of 1971. Don had volunteered to check IDs at the door that evening. Sheila was attending with classmates from a local dental assistant program. She caught Don’s eye, but had forgotten her ID. “It gave me a great opportunity to talk to her,” said Don, “but she spent the rest of the evening trying to avoid me.” She agreed to go out for a bite to eat after the dance, and the couple has been married for 54 years!
Christie and Mike
Christie Monstream and Mike Maether, both Class of 2011, met in the dining hall as first-year students when Mike was shooting a video for a class. They had mutual friends through the years, and often crossed paths, but didn’t hang out. After graduation, they began to spend time together and became friends. In 2017, they had each left long-term relationships, reconnected, and started dating. They were married in September 2020 and a year later welcomed their first daughter, Molly.
Jeanette and Kenneth
Jeanette Lohiser and Kenneth Tyler, Jr., both Class of 2007, met as first-year students in Haffey Hall. Both students in the psychology program, they quickly became friends and began dating in 2005. They married in 2011 and now have two beautiful children. “Twenty beautiful years and looking forward to more!“ says Jeanette.
Meg and Anthony
Megan Mills ’10, ’12 and Anthony Allocco-Angell ’09 met in Meg’s first week at Fisher. From there they shared many dining hall meals, late nights in the computer lab, and even took a few classes together. In November 2008 they welcomed one of the biggest surprises of their college careers: a daughter, Morgan Rae. They continued with their educations, and Meg returned to Fisher to pursue a Masters in Literacy. They married in September 2013 and welcomed their son, Ace, in July of 2014. “Nineteen years later, we are going strong and will celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary in the fall!” says Meg.
Emma and Chase
Emma Pyrak and Chase Corcoran, both Class of 2021, met on the first day of their First-Generation Scholars Program class. What began as a friendship and regular breakfast meetup between classes grew into something more. They began dating in November 2017 and were married in the Hermance Family Chapel of St. Basil the Great in November 2025! 
Stephanie and Greg
Stephanie D'Amico ’01 and Greg Constantino ’00 met as Fisher students in 1997. The couple married in 2005 and look forward to celebrating their 20th anniversary this summer!
Tuhana and Irvin
Tuhana ’00 and Irvin ’02 met at the classic “Fisher bar” in 1998 where he asked for her number. From that point on they were inseparable. They were engaged and then married in 2002. Over 20 years and one son later, Fisher is still part of their hearts.
Carol and John
John Rickert ’92 and Carol Palmer ’89 met in August 1988 at Kearney Hall. Carol was on the Orientation Team and John was a freshman. They’ve been married for 29 years and have two children and share fond memories of Fisher. 
Jeanne and Jared
Jeanne Fiano ’09 and Jared Nourse ’13 did not meet at Fisher but share it as their alma mater. Jenna attended as an undergrad and Jared earned his master’s in the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. School of Education. While they didn’t know one another at Fisher, they love their shared connection to their alma mater.
Stephanie and Brenden
Stephanie Sweeney ’11 and Brenden Moore ’12 met in 2009 in the athletic training room - she as a member of the basketball team and he as a member of the football team. They married in 2016 and today are proud parents of three children: Quinn, Brenden, and Leighton. 
Tami and Kevin
Tami Keiser ’04 and Kevin Keiser ’03 are a story of opposites attract. Kevin grew up in a small town with a small family, and played football. Tami grew up in a large family, attending Catholic school, and played rugby. They married in 2005, have five children, and are both educators in the Rochester area. 
Julia and Ethan
Julia Britton ’23 and Ethan Heineman ’24 were set up by a mutual friend on the Residential Life staff. They started dating shortly after Julia graduated and have been together for almost two years.
Elizabeth and Dan
Class of 2007 grads Dan Kapuscinski and Elizabeth Barone didn’t meet until the end of their senior year. They began dating and made the most of their final months together at Fisher. They married in September 2013 and are the proud parents of two children, who they have brought back to Fisher for visits.
Kerri and Andrew
Kerri Hastings and Andrew Hastings, both Class of 2009, didn’t cross paths until their 100 Days ‘Til Graduation Celebration their senior year. They spent their final 100 days at Fisher together, and were married three years later in 2012. Today, they are proud parents of two daughters. 
Jenna and Carter
Class of 2020 alumni Jenna Stogsdill and Christopher "Carter" Fritch met as members of the Fisher men’s and women’s golf teams. They became good friends, and logged many hours studying together in Lavery Library. They married in 2020 and enjoy traveling and spending time with their rescue dog. 
Gabby and James
Gabby Dunkelberg ’20 and James Felice ’18 met on the SJF cross country and track and field teams in 2016. Their shared passion for running brought them closer, and they started dating in 2018. Together, they bought a house, adopted a dog, and are now planning their wedding for June 2026 at Fisher in the Hermance Family Chapel of St. Basil the Great!
Veronica and Dan
Veronica Chiesi Brown ’00 and Daniel Brown ’00 met during freshman year orientation in 1996. She put her communication/journalism tenacity to work, not afraid to introduce herself, and from that moment on, they were inseparable. They got engaged in December 1999 and married in May 2002. Today, they are proud parents of two children, Olivia and Anthony, and Dan has returned to Fisher as a cybersecurity instructor.
Sydney and Matt
Sydney Saccone ’17 and Matthew Cahill ’15 first crossed paths in a Wednesday night Spanish class. Matt would come directly from baseball practice and always asked to borrow a pencil. Two years later they reconnected, each admitting they’d had a Spanish class crush. They began dating and were married last year.
Emily and Jeremy
Emily Zalacca ’06 and Jeremy Zalacca ’07 met through their Fisher teammates at the dining hall. She played volleyball and he played basketball. Now 20 years later, they have built a beautiful life together. They married in 2012, moved to North Carolina, and are proud parents of two children, Mason and Mila.
Kenneth and Kirsten
Kenneth Kula ’91 was walking across campus during his sophomore year when he encountered a woman and a young girl, Kirsten, looking for directions to the bursar’s office. Instead of golfing, Kenneth changed course to escort the pair himself. During their walk to the office, they got to know one-another and decided to stay in touch. "Little did I know at the time that nearly 30 years later, I would marry Kirsten," says Kenneth.
Lena and Raymond
Lena Ross and Raymond Kieliszak, both Class of 1978 met early in their freshman year in 1974 at a campus club dance. They spent the next four years with daily coffee dates in the commuter lounge, studying in Lavery Library, and enjoying campus events like Aerosmith and Styxx performances. Now married for 44 years, they enjoy time with their children and grandchildren. "We enjoyed so much of our experiences getting to know each other and falling in love at Fisher learning a bit and playing a lot!! We are ever grateful to SJFC (now SJFU)," shares Lena.
MaryAnne and Arthur
After a parking lot encounter in 1982, MaryAnne Torregrassa and Arthur Constantino, both Class of 1983, kept running into one another on campus. After their first date, MaryAnne invited Arthur to meet her family on Christmas eve and the rest is history! The pair recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, and two of their four children are also Fisher graduates. "I received two amazing gifts from attending Fisher - a wonderful husband and, of course, a great degree in accounting," says MaryAnne.
Deb and Jeremy
A card game in Haffey Hall brought freshmen Deb and Jeremy together in 1992. From there it was four years of sitting on "The Hill," study sessions, spring fest, and cheering Jeremy on at football games. Married for 25 years, they couple has two daughters and still share a love of card games and Fisher! 
Kelly and Jamie
Kelly and Jamie, both Class of 2014 grads, didn't meet until senior year. Kelly invited her good friend and lab partner, Dave, to her 21st birthday celebration, and Dave asked to bring along some lacrosse friends, and Jamie was one of those roommates. From that night on, Kelly and Jamie kept crossing paths and started dating. They moved in together after graduation in 2014 and the rest is history. The pair were engaged in 2018, married in 2021 and welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2023. And this June they'll welcome a son!

Alicia and Josh
Alicia Metting and Josh Dougherty, both Class of 2003, first met in their psych statistics class in Spring 2000. They found themselves in class together again in the summer and began dating. They were married in 2003, less then two months after their graduation. Now 25 years later they’re happily married parents of 11 children.
